Mark A. Newman 
Attorney at Law

Mark Newman is the managing attorney at Newman, Thompson & Gray, P.C.  Mark was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1994 after graduating from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.  While attending Drake University, Mark received several prestigious honors including the Order of the Barrister and the M. Gene Blackburn Award which was awarded for the best brief in the Supreme Court Days Competition 1992 - 1993.  Mark completed his undergraduate course work at the University of Northern Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Technology.


Mark is also a member of the Iowa Auctioneers Association   Mark graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa, in 1983.  He worked along side his father-in-law, Gordon Taylor as a professional auctioneer from 1983 to 1989.

Mark serves on the Winnebago County Bar Association as well as the Iowa Bar Association.  Mark also teaches part-time at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, and is the proprietor of a small vineyard: 99 Bottles Winery & Vineyard, in Garner, Iowa.  He was born in Clarion, Iowa. 


Jeremy J. Gray
Attorney at Law

Jeremy J. Gray graduated from Regent University School of Law with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 2009 and was admitted to the Iowa bar that same year.  Jeremy completed his undergraduate coursework at the University of Northern Iowa.  Jeremy graduated in 2005 from UNI with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Political Science.

Jeremy is a member of the Iowa Bar Association and the President of the Winnebago County Bar association.  Jeremy was born and raised on a farm near Titonka, Iowa. 

Shaun A. Thompson
Attorney at Law


Shaun A. Thompson graduated Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2007.  While at Michigan, Shaun was an associate editor and contributing editor of the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review.

Shaun has been admitted to practice in Colorado*, Minnesota, and Iowa.  Before joining Newman Law Office, Shaun’s practice focused primarily on complex commercial litigation and agricultural law.  Shaun has extensive experience in agricultural genetic licensing and represented Prosoy Genetics LLC in its acquisition by Bayer Cropscience.

Shaun completed his undergraduate coursework in Music and Bible at Northwestern College in St. Paul MN.  He was born and raised on a farm near Leland, Iowa.  Shaun has been involved in a wide variety of agricultural businesses throughout his life.
